No shortage of the white stuff!
Can hardly wait to pour this over the pancakes...
SPRING 2008 NEWS FROM HENRY ISAACS STUDIO!
At the time of this writing on May 1st, there are only patches of snow around Henry Isaacs' studio in central Vermont. Some crocus and a few daffodils are bravely blooming on the south side of the house. The sap has run, and a few quarts of maple syrup have been put up in the pantry. Given the 80 to 1 ratio (sap to finished syrup), Henry ought not to quit his art job.
And it's time to get on the road! The first stop will be in very warm Nashville; Henry has become a regular around the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As part of their extraordinary arts programming, Donna Glassford's Office of Cultural Enrichment has made the Arts a priority in healthcare and the workplace. A visit to Vanderbilt has become an arts destination in itself! Henry will be teaching oil painting to another group of Vanderbilt nurses within the blooms of Cheekwood Gardens.
Two art openings follow: the first on May 3rd at The Art Store. Lisa Fischer Casto is the new owner. Mimi Dinsmore joins her as Gallery Director. The Art Store carries right on showcasing the best in West Virginia, and continues to welcome Vermonter Isaacs as part of its family. To view the exhibition, go to: www.TheArtStoreWV.com
May 17th brings Henry back into the art scene of the Washington D.C area with his opening and re-establishment of representation by the Marin-Price Galleries in Chevy Chase Maryland. Director Francisco Marin-Price has curated an eclectic mix of Henry's paintings: wonderful new images from the Southwest will be hanging alongside subjects from Vermont, Maine, Tennessee, and California! To view the exhibition, go to: www.marin-pricegalleries.com.
Large-scale commissions are beginning on site in Texas. (Well of course they would be large!) However the scale of ten feet by twelve feet will provide an unusual opportunity to paint Texas' famous bluebonnets, as well as a project in the oil fields of South and West Texas!
Closer to home will be the body of work underway for the Blue Heron Gallery in Welfleet, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Sliding into summer, Henry plans to shift to his island studio, where he will base himself to again depict the hills and coastal mountains and waterways of Downeast Maine. Look for these via our links to the Islesford Artists Gallery, on Little Cranberry Island Maine, and The Firehouse Gallery in Damariscotta, Maine.
There is a link on our home page to this year's only public workshop to be held in early September in Warm Springs, Virginia. While enrollment has filled, the Warm Springs Gallery is happy to take additional names and contact information in anticipation of a future event.
